I bet it was beautiful too as the weather starts changing there. Love the pics......Do you guys remember when you all sat on top of the cannons at West Point? You also sat on them (Ry you were so little and scared of the noise) at one of Washington's training camps. Megan and Andrew were with you guys.....have those photos and your picture with Carrie reminded me of that.
So...who caught the boquet and who got the garter? you know I like those details Scotty.......did you dance with the fam? Do they think you're insane on the dance floor?
Ok.....just checking. Have a wonderful day everyone. Looking forward to spending some time in AZ with family. Bye for now

I want to move to Va
I spent the weekend in Virginia with the GF attending a wedding for one of her best friends. I had an unbelievable time out there and it made me really miss New York. Some of the highlights included:
• Watching a Nationals game in there new park
• Cheering the South Carolina Gamecocks to victory
• Meeting all 45 of Carries buddies....they gave me a lot of shit
• Metro rides
• Fawn Lake
• Rehearsal dinner
• Dancing my face off at the wedding
• Having the best Sunday ever!!! Skins game, BBQ, watching the rain, playing with little Nico

Listening to affirmations at work...
Found this old poem I wrote... yep, this is where my head is at. Thank you family for all of your support, now and always! Old soul Lisa is re-emerging:
Here I am, full of wisdom, movement, power as I tower over adversity, can't you see that I was meant to be the one and only Lisa Kirby? I blur the lines between what is reality and society's tremendously uninformed assumptions. We all beat the drum to a constant monotonous drawn out daily routine. But I've seen and I've tasted the long lasting all embracing Source Energy that has sent me into a whirlwind of contemplation and re-calculation as I put a halt on the normally stalwart negative thoughts of the unawakened masses. To possess a flicker of this delightful knowledge, to remember to remember that we have the power to set forth these rockets of desire, to think and attract all that we ask for. How glorious the moment when we claim ownership to the beautiful life that is ours to design. My canvas is ever changing and defining. I glide through this life with joy and love and family and friends by my side.

Reason # 47 Why I hate LA
Ok, so I went to the Citizen Cope Concert at the House of Blues on Sunset last night and he did an amazing job despite having to sing over a LOUD, rude, clueless audience. I've never been so ashamed of a place where I live than I am right now. The souls of these LA people are hollow! The GF and I were standing next to a couple that were more interested in there IPHONE and Captain Morgan and cokes than they were vibing out with Cope. She definitely goes to USC and he was probably in USC grad school. Puke on your Dick!!! I tried to tune everything out but it was very difficult-what was everyone TALKING about?!

Let the Drummer Kick
I’m checking out Citizen Cope tonight @ the House of Blues in Hollywood. This guy is pretty rad; I love his vibe= very bluesy with reggae base lines. I'm taking to GF, I can't wait!!!!!

ROSE BOWL!!! UCLA VS Kansas St 2009
We headed it out to Pasadena Saturday to cheer on the Bruins man handle the K-State Wildcats. The GF and I went with Steck, Drew, and Chizz and tailgated in the Now and Forever Tailgate for ex-UCLA football players. This "free" tailgate was equipped with plasma TV's, catered BBQ, open FULL Bar, leather couches, XBOX, and they even pumped in air condition into the tent. It was AMAZING
The best part of the day/night was watching the pre-game warm-ups on the FIELD!! I felt, touched, smelled the Rose Bowl grass and I can now say I can die a happy man. It goes into my top five experiences of my life.
Thanks again Cuz for hooking all this up, can't wait to go back!

Thought for the day....
Hi Family,
Just wanted to send this little message that came to my attention. Thought it was good because when we take ourselves too seriously and don't have fun.....we need to take a deep breath and remember......
Life is short Break the rules
forgive quickly
kiss passionately
love truly
laugh constantly
And never stop smiling no matter how strange life is
Life is not always the party we expected to be
but as long as we are here, we should smile and be grateful.
I am so thankful and grateful to have all of you in my life. Scotty, it seems that you and I are filling up this blog. How about having one of us send a message a week. Gives everyone 7 days to think about what they want to say......serious and meaningful. What do you think?

Support your Local Music scene-Santa Monica
Carrie and I and some friends went to a place called Dakota Lounge on 11th and Wilshire. It's a sick spot to watch some local bands jam out for about an hour. We supporter Carries friend Paul Freeman; he is a cool English boy with catchy tunes and rifts.
And then there was this girl who played her little heart out as well. Loved her!!
shhhhhh-going to see the KILLERS TONIGHT!!!! Can't wait

SLAMATHON WINS 4th Straight Championship
It was a great day to be wearing Neon Green on Saturday as our Co-ed Touch Football Team "Slamathon" won its 4th consecutive Championship. We finally had our complete team in town which consisted of Steck, Drew, Rybo, Chizzz, Scottie,J-Bone, E, Brit, Nik,Kristen,Ash,Amy,Carrie,T-Money,Coop,Barnsy. We pretty much dominated everyone.
After the last seconds ticked off we all sprinted to the Neon Green kiddy pool and dog pilled into the water turning the pool into a sloppy, dirty mess. Great Job Team, see you next season.
On a sad note my Oklahoma State Cowboys EFFFFING lost to Houston at home. Unbelievable!!!
Get it together GUNDY!!!

Friday Funday-Rest Up
It's going to be a very active weekend for me with my CO-ED Flag Football Play-offs Saturday…….
Where Team SLAMATHON will try to capture its 4th Consecutive Championship. After that win, I will need to rest up because I have my CO-ED Softball Playoffs beginning Sunday evening.
Team Puck U defends its title against a bunch of sappy, complaining wannabe D-1 athletes.
To answer your question yes I have a life, so what I like to stay active on the weekends, drink some beers, throw touchdowns, and hit homeruns. I LOVE IT.
THAT’S WHAT KIRBYS DO
Great, great picture of Coit Tower......what a weekend that was.
Good luck with your team. Sounds pretty good for a first time draft.
Ry, the rackets are ready for you. Re-match next week, ok?
Lis, will work on that visit. Great idea.
Ok....cleaning begins. See you roomie next week. All of you have a wonderful weekend.
Love you

Labor Day 2009 Re-Cap
Good Morning back to the grind....I really think our jobs are interfering with our lives and I don't think its fair. Some "yahoo" in New York just one 168 million dollars playing the lottery. That would be nice to have right now; all of us would retire and travel the world then start some cool non-profit or something.
Anyways my thoughts of Labor Day Weekend:
1. This was my 1st Labor Day in 3 years I have not spent in the Hammies. I did miss a couple of things but spending quality time with you and Care was way more enjoyable.
2. "Love you...mean it" best quote of the weekend, right up there with "Left hand turn to Bangtown"
3. Dan, almost breaking his nose on a table after drinking 100 drinks throughout the day....remember when Jake hosed him down at 48 Salvador...? classic
4. Jake, Carrie and I talking about living in the South where the little league fields are pristine and the women beautiful. (Fredericksburg, Texas)
5. Big Poppa Pump
6. Uncle S, and Aunty H, agreeing on a lot of issues............."head in the sand, and I won't care"
7. Tainted Love-not that good
8. Drinking endless beers at Players and OOOOOOOO SSSSSSS UUUUUU beating the Bulldogs!!! Stillwater Baby!!!
9. Lisa drinking a cup of Souza tequila on the ferry....going from 0 to 100 in seconds
10. Sun bathing on the driveway, watching Ryan workout, and drinking BL's...priceless.
Namaste

did we survive?
WHEW!!!!! What a watta weekend!!
San Fran beautiful....Sausalito beautiful......TerraLinda...? almost as beautiful. To my road trip buddies.....thanks for the lovely floral boquet we all endured and for those interesting sounds coming from within your radius. Do I sense another road trip at Thanksgiving?
Loved the time we had with you all. Thanks for the great memories of Angelino's. Lis, sorry I couldn't produce Edward but who knows, November is just around the corner.
Thanks hon (Kev) for your willingness to go with the flow. No matter what you all think, the dinner was wonderful. Wink...remember when you said "we aren't mature enough to do this"? I hope in the future that will be different. I like Angel Island, bbcue, lots of sports and of course a feast. Put it on the "to do" list.
Thanks for including your golden parents. We are on a role now.....getting in shape, doing the abs and no cheese or crackers or mid week excuses. We are committed and going full blown.
love my family......

Monday's Are Overated
Sitting in the backseat with Drew trying to piece together the last 3 days. I'm a little hung and hurtin' but well worth the work that was done. Lis, thanks for letting us mess up your system. Scotty, great Yoga moves on the driveway. Andrew, no more checking your phone for Football updates. It's rude. Mom, please revert to the words of wisdom from Mary J. Blidge: "I ain't got no mo drama in my life." Dad, way to FIRE IT UP as always. Side notes: I think glass eyes are sexy. Dan is my new favorite human being. Don't grow long beards, they itch. Lastly, if you make 3 left turns, you're gonna have to eventually go right. Rybo out.

UPDATED PIC
Lisa wanted this picture instead.
I brought my parents, bro and sis out to the Hamptons, when I lived in New York. Let’s just say it was INSANE!!! Just look at the size of that beer bong I’m holding.
Here is a glimpse:
The Orange Crush "Stoli-O and 180 Energy Drinks"
The DRIFT
West Hampton Beach
Overly aggressive New York Women
Nathans hotdogs
Drinking at 10am to 7am
Jamboni
6 on 6 Volleyball Tournament with a full extension beer chugging contest
Hours of conversation about the Jets and the Mets
Pool party
Naked Mario
A guy named "Bagel"
Screaming, Laughing, 4am dance parties......."till it's OVER!!!"
I miss the Hammies!!

HELLO FAM!
I couldn't fall asleep right away last night because I was envisioning this weekend's festivities; that and I couldn't stop laughing about Hard Knocks Episode #4. It really has changed the Ski... no longer will I be calling "BLOW OUT!!" when there is a sports game on. No, in fact, I watched SportsCenter last night - by myself - out of choice - and enjoyed it. OchoCinco alone has made me remember why I love sports and athletes in general. Good work HBO. Can't wait to see you guys!
Love, Lis
p.s. can we post this pic instead??

Great Night of College Football
I love going out on Thursday's it makes Friday fly by in my opinion just as long as you’re in bed before 12am. Anyways watched the South Carolina game with the GF and the Aussie at a place called South on Wilshire blvd, not a bad spot except they have $2 mystery shots where the bartender picks the shot......lets just say I took one that included peppered vodka and Tabasco....UGGGGGG.
We then took the party to a great spot called West 4th and Jane where they serve 22oz Pabst blue Ribbon beers. RAD!!!! For us West Coasters it's trendy to order cheap beer, Marvin thinks we are RIDIC because back east its no big deal to order a Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Anyways love this BAR!!!!!!!!!! Getting ready to go to SF for Labor Day, SKI get your mind right!!!!!

Golden People?
Since all our offspring seem to have Golden Child status, does that mean they have Golden Parentals?
College Football Begins Tonight!!!
So the countdown is officially over, we can now rest easy that the best game in the world is Finally here!! Tonight Marvin's Gamecocks take on the North Carolina State Wolf Pack. It should be a close game........well if "The Old Ball Coach" Spurrier finds a QB who can throw it ten yards. Sorry Marvin I think NC State has this one.
